While watching the annual procession in Thalpitiya in Sri Lanka during our holiday last month, I appeared to be standing out from the crowd. Not because I was an obvious tourist, as there were plenty of tourists about, but because I was taking photo’s using a big DSLR with a big white lens. I got a lot of quizzical looks and various people coming up to me asking if I was from the press or what that special camera was that I had.
This woman stood out from the crowd for me, like a sore thumb, but nobody seem to bat an eyelid when seeing her wander about taking photo’s for hours.
Am I out of touch? Have times changed? Is it time to trade my DSLR in for an iPad?
